- Your contact need to have a valid phone number for an SMS to be sent.
- Your contact need to have accepted to receive SMS-messages from Gizmi.
We are adding SMS to Gizmi. We understand that sometimes you need to urgently contact your customers with some reminders, content or promotions.
On Jan 15th 2020 Facebook will relsease its new 24 hour window for chat messaging update. You can further read this article to better understand the 24 hour rule, but in a nut shell this means that you can only respond to your customers message and not initiate it. Facebook does give you the option to use Facebook tags and sponsored ads on which you can read more here.
We at Gizmi want to help you strengthen the relationship with your clients who might expect to get value added services, more content, checkups and extra attention from their service provider.
How Gizmi SMS works?
Once your 24 hour “all you can chat” window is closed, any message that you type to your customer (that is not a tag) will be sent to your customer via SMS with an m.me link.
Facebook explains it the best “m.me is a shortened URL service operated by Facebook that redirects users to a person, page, or bot in Messenger. You can use them on your website, email newsletters, and more.
When a user starts a new conversation or continues an existing conversation with your bot via an m.me link, the following message will appear in the conversation: “You have entered this conversation by following a link. We’ve let PAGE_NAME know you’re here.”
This means that Gizmi will send a message that will look like that:
And once your customer clicks on the link we will release your message and a new 24 hour window will be opened for you to engage with your customers and deliver your service.
What can I send via SMS?
Any inappropriate, weapon-related, drugs or pornography content can’t be sent via SMS according to the law. Please make sure to read fcc rules and regulations here.
Aside the above, you can write and attach whatever you want. We will only be sending a notification SMS to your user that there is a message waiting for him from his service provider (You).
Once they click on the m.me link they will be redirected to your messenger conversation and receive the message you wrote for them. The system will show you that your message is pending until your customer clicks the link.
In the process of signing up to your service on Gizmi we will ask your customers for SMS consent.
However, you would need to make sure all your leads have approved receiving SMS from us.

Add Phone number
In order for you to be able to reach out to your customers via SMS you would need to make sure you have inserted their phone number in the customer card.
Make sure your number is inserted correctly: Phone number must look like +7689432188 or 7689432188 for them to work correctly.
Every Gizmi subscription comes with 500 free SMS messages.
If you go over 500 SMS’s we will be charging 0.01$ per outgoing SMS. At the end of each month we will bill you separately for the total amount of messages sent by you.
That is 1$ for every additional 100 SMS.
